Caramel Pecan Brownies
This is one amazing brownie recipe made of rich buttery chocolate, caramel and pecans. These were made with homemade caramel, but individually wrapped caramels work beautifully also.
Caramel Pecan Brownies
- 4 ounces unsweetened baking chocolate
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- 11 ounces caramel
- 1/3 cup cream
- 1 cup pecans
Steps to make the brownies:
- Microwave on high, the chocolate and butter for 2 minutes. Stir until smooth.
- Stir in sugar and salt.
- Stir in eggs.
- Stir in flour.
- Divide batter evenly into two bowls. Pour HALF of the batter into foil lined 9-inch by 13-inch baking pan. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes.
- Microwave on high, the caramel and cream for 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Add pecans.
- Pour pecan and caramel mixture over baked brownies.
- Add the second half of the brownie mixture on top of caramel layer. Bake additional 30 minutes.
- Cool completely, then cut and serve.
Homemade caramel or store bought work equally as well.
