Crisis Cleanup helped Texas thanks to this man
While food related stories are my primary interest on this website, highlighting remarkable people in times such as we have recently experienced in Texas feels like the right moment to make an exception.
Often it isn’t until we experience something firsthand that we realize exactly what it entails. I met Aaron Titus in person and was eager to learn how he started Crisis Cleanup so I could report on his heroic efforts that helped save thousands of Texas homes which had flooded after Hurricane Harvey hit in August 2017.
On my second weekend to help muck out homes and participate in disaster recovery as a volunteer, I rushed back to Austin to be able to attend a special awards night where Titus would receive recognition for his Christ-like service. I was privileged to hear from him, his wife and several other people who shed light on Crisis Cleanup and how valuable it had been for many disasters throughout the world.
