Happy National Praline Day
From our family to yours, we wish you the very best National Praline Day ever! It’s apparently a thing. I never knew until a few days ago when I checked Google for food holidays in the United States. One day last year I was craving pecan pie, so I baked one in the middle of summer. It turns out that I was within a day or so of National Pecan Pie day. Who knew?
Pralines are kind of a big deal here. I wrote an article on the topic, Pralines and Dreams, about going back to college after a huge gap to finish my bachelor’s degree. I had kicked off my praline business, kind of by accident, when people started asking if they could order some. It turns out that my beloved circle of friends really like my chewy Texas pecan pralines. That income surge may not have paid all of my pricy out-of-state tuition this past spring, however I discovered a potential and passion for making, marketing and selling Kelly’s Kitchen Creation treats to doting friends and family.
There’s an unexplainable satisfaction that comes from making someone’s day with these chewy pralines, or a few of the other homemade goodies that people have requested.
Packaging and making the creations festive and appealing is part of the fun.
I made so many pralines before my final semester at CU, that I felt like Willy Wonka.
Thanks to my talented computer guru husband for helping me get my shop working on my website. You can now order directly through my shop for fresh homemade chewy Texas pecan pralines!
Trust me, these delicious pralines made with love (by me) are creamy, buttery, sweet, nutty and chewy.
Each box is $20 US, and comes with a half dozen pralines. Shipping is additional.
And National Pecan Pie Day is July 12 in case you’ve been wondering. Mark your calendar!
