Ranch Cheese Ball
by Kelly J. Larson
My friend, Judy, made a fantastic cheese ball recently and I was so surprised at how easy it was. I just have to share her simple recipe. One of these days, I will explore making it with my own ranch concoction, but for now, this time saver packet is perfect.
Ranch Cheese Ball
- 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 ounce packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- pecans to roll the cheese ball(s) in
- Club crackers, Triscuits or Wheat Thins
Mix cream cheese, ranch cheddar and onions well. Line a bowl or bowls with plastic wrap. Fill with cheese mixture.
Cover tops with plastic wrap. Refrigerate until firm. If you’re in a hurry (or impatient), put into freezer for a half hour instead.
Refrigerate until firm, then remove cheese ball(s) and roll in chopped pecans.
Return to refrigerator until serving. Serve with assorted crackers or vegetables.
