Strawberry Shortcake Breakfast Style
Cake for breakfast isn’t something I would want all the time, but yesterday I was in the mood for strawberry shortcake. I had some whipping cream in the refrigerator, but am saving it for making pralines. I wondered how the flower-shaped cupcakes I had just baked would taste in a French toast style, covered with maple syrup and strawberries. I actually wanted to try it with some crumbled bacon to take away from the sweetness overload, but I was too impatient and hungry, so I sprinkled crumbled feta as my creamy and savory element. It was tasty!
I’m about to say good-bye to these striped aqua plates (sending them to a dear friend who did something extra nice for me and she is crazy about them), so before carefully packing plate service for eight and shipping them off to the west coast, I came up with a few pretty place setting possibilities.
The denim tablecloth with the bandana napkin compliment this place setting nicely.
